Sarah is an ICF Accredited Executive Coach, working with leaders and leadership teams to strengthen their performance and achieve competitive advantage for them, for their stakeholders and for their organization. She has extensive experience of leading teams in complex, dynamic environments from many years at one of the top FTSE 100 companies.

Sarah is a member of Faculty for the Practitioner Diploma and a coach supervisor. She supports and challenges people to discover how they are holding themselves back and how they can drive themselves forward.

Sarah’s coaching qualifications include the Master Practitioner Diploma in Systemic Team Coaching and the Advanced Diploma in Executive Coaching.

John Gray

“My role as AoEC faculty allows me to combine my experience in coaching with my enthusiasm for supporting people in their professional development and personal awareness and change. I bring empathy and insight to working with those in their learning journeys, for them to find their ideal coaching model and approach.”

Originally qualifying and practising as a solicitor, John has also worked at the at the Quaker United Nations Office in Geneva, in grassroots peace-building in Burundi, and establishing and leading a community mediation service. Since 2001 he has been freelance offering organisational consultancy and facilitation, non-managerial supervision, and also latterly coaching.
He has also developed and developed a number of professional development programmes and initiatives, including supervision kills, effective conflict skills, team building, reflective practice, managing change, and globally responsible leadership skills and practice. His coaching practice is with leaders and leadership teams, in a wide range of local, national and international organisations.

In addition to his coaching, and his faculty role with AoEC, John is a part-time lecturer in leadership and management at the University of York’s Centre for Applied Human Rights.

Kirstie McLachlan
Kirstie McLachlanFaculty
Kirstie started professional life as a qualified Social Worker which gave her a good understanding of human behaviour and enabled her to develop the interpersonal skills and resilience required for public sector work. After some years in Social Work, Kirstie returned to university to study for a Master’s in Public Health. This gave her academic rigour, later complemented with leadership training at the London Business School. Kirstie worked both in the UK and abroad in both the public and third sectors, both in commissioning and provider management.

Kirstie’s work as a leader gave her a strong commitment to leadership development. She works part time for the University of Birmingham as a Senior Lecturer on the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson programme which leads to a Master’s in Healthcare Leadership. Based not only on research evidence about effective leadership but also on adult learning principles, this work compliments Kirstie’s work as Faculty for the AoEC on the Coaching Certificate and Executive Coaching Practitioner Diploma programmes; both are based on adult learning principles and support leadership development.

Kirstie herself also works as an Executive Coach. Holding the AoEC Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching, she is accredited at ACC level with the International Coaching Federation.

Karen Smart

Karen trained as an Executive Coach with the AoEC, following a successful commercial career in the pharmaceutical industry and as an independent consultant. She has worked in a variety of sales, marketing and training roles globally, in Mexico and the UK. Karen enjoys facilitating open events, the Coaching Skills Certificate and the Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching. She loves to support people through their learning journey and watch them grow in confidence as they experience coaching and practice their skills.
Anita Rolls

Anita’s career began as a solicitor for Linklaters, followed by other top-tier international firms such as Morgan Stanley, American Express and UBS where she worked with Senior Executives as a trusted advisor in various capacities such as In-House Counsel, Marketer & Private Banker.
She also has experience of setting up coaching programmes internally within corporates: latterly she was Head of Executive Coaching at Barclays where she managed a Global Coaching Faculty as part of the Executive Development offering before setting up her own boutique coaching consultancy.

Anita has coached clients from a range of industries including CBRE, UBS, JP Morgan, Henderson Global Investors, Strutt & Parker, Diageo, Glencore, Aberdeen Asset Management, Daily Mail & General Trust and the Diocese of London.

Alan Taylor

Alan specialises in working with managers and leadership teams, building both individual and collective capabilities via the application of a systemic coaching focus. Clients experience the benefits of working with a coach who has walked-the-talk, a coach with a unique combination of senior operational management and leadership experience, coupled with a high level of coaching competence and accreditation.

Working in the UK and Europe, Alan supports and challenges clients, such that they stretch beyond stakeholder expectations.

Scott Walker

Having begun his coaching journey over 10 years ago working as an EMCC-trained internal coach in the Metropolitan Police, Scott is a highly experienced and internationally accredited peak performance coach, facilitator, and consultant. He has worked alongside hundreds of organisations around the world and across a wide range of industries and sectors including financial, legal, construction, FCMG, education, media, NGOs and mining, supporting them all to master effective leadership and decision making in challenging and uncertain conditions. Scott also supports organisations in developing corporate-based mindfulness strategies and techniques to improve performance and wellbeing.

Scott is a member of Faculty for the AoEC Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching and Coaching Certificate programmes. He is also a Mentor Coach, NLP Master Practitioner and has extensive experience of using and interpreting the DISC profile assessment with coaching clients.

Kay Young
Kay YoungFaculty
Based in Scotland, Kay is an executive coach and leadership consultant with public and private sector clients. She has 15 years international senior management experience, including: working at NHS Board Director level; developing high profile executive coaching and leadership development programmes; tutoring for 15 years on a range of MBA programmes. Kay is a highly experienced, professional, and accredited coach; she has gained the Diploma in Advanced Executive Coaching and the Master Coach Practitioner Diploma with the AoEC. She is passionate about learning and human growth; and in working with leaders, to enhance personal, leadership, team and organisational effectiveness. Kay is currently training in gestalt psychotherapy, with Edinburgh Gestalt Institute.
Brigid Russell

Based in Scotland, Brigid is an independent executive coach and consultant working with a range of public and private sector clients across the UK. She has extensive experience over the past 20 years of working with senior teams and leaders. She is focused on the potential value she can add to the development of individuals, teams and organisations and inspired by the potential of change and learning.

She has both the Advanced and Master Practitioner Diplomas in Executive Coaching from the Academy of Executive Coaching and is close to completing the Certificate in Supervision from Bath Consultancy Group. As part of her contribution to the coaching profession, she is now fulfilling in a voluntary capacity the role as Regional Director Scotland (Designate) for EMCC UK.

She began her career as a manager in the National Health Service. After completing a MBA at Manchester Business School in 1995, she worked for the Hay Group as a management consultant for over ten years where she progressed to the position of Associate Director.

Hazel Valentine

Hazel is an Executive Coach with a Consultancy/Organisational HRD background working with clients in the UK, Middle East, Europe and Eastern Europe. Hazel draws on a wealth of knowledge and wisdom from many business sectors such as financial services, manufacturing, retail, local authorities and entrepreneurial projects.

Hazel is author and designer of a number of ICF and University accredited developmental programmes in executive coaching and coaching leadership.

She has a Masters Degree in HR Strategy and HRD. Her work is underpinned by Gestalt theory and practice together with Advanced Transactional Analysis in organisations, including coaching and consultancy. She is ICF PCC accredited and is also a Coaching supervisor.
Hazel is also visiting Faculty within the AoeC for the Advanced Diploma, Practitioner Diploma and Corporate programmes.

Moira Nangle
Moira NangleAssociate Faculty
Formerly Director of Organisation Development at Virgin Atlantic Airways, Moira is a creative, perceptive OD professional with qualifications in Training, Teaching, Psychotherapy, both one to one and team coaching, and an MSc in Organisation Development. She has Director level experience in all three sectors.

Moira has designed, delivered and evaluated OD interventions from Board to Shop-floor level ranging from business strategy to organisation design, new product development, talent management, culture change, and customer service. During the last few years she has worked with senior teams in a coaching or consulting capacity across Europe and in Hong Kong, Malaysia and the Middle East to develop the internal capability and capacity to lead and manage change.

Moira is a visiting lecturer in HRM and leadership at City University London, and is also an associate of Roffey Park Leadership Institute where she works primarily in the areas of leadership and change.

Karen Gervais

“I am continually fascinated by the complexity and potential in human systems, whether at an individual or collective level. All my work is about developing powerful ways to free up and channel the energy in them, as a catalyst for sustainable change, where it matters most.”

Karen has delivered transformationally at senior and board level in Europe, Asia, Middle East and America over the past 15 years. She previously spent 10 years with EY Management Consultants. Valued for her engaging style and profound insight, she is able to get underneath difficult issues and accelerate results. Being at the forefront excites Karen. She worked with Henley Business School and the BT Global Yacht Race to research emotional intelligence in leadership, and co-created our first advanced coaching diploma. With a framework deeply rooted in neuroscience, psychology and business, Karen has pioneered approaches in creative visioning, personal branding, emotional recycling, boardroom presence, change agency and stakeholder relationships. She is also a Cognitive Behavioural Hypno Therapist. Client sectors include professional services, telecoms, management consultancy, property, financial services, energy and pharmaceuticals.

Alan Gilchrist

Alan has worked as a coach, facilitator, consultant and educator for nearly 20 years following a successful career as an engineer and business leader in the oil industry, working for 15 years worldwide with BP and Expro International.

His current work is focused on 1-1 coaching, team coaching, collective thinking and coach education and supervision. Organizational clients span all sectors.

Alan has trained thoroughly as a coach, systemic team coach and coach supervisor and is accredited by the ICF. He views his experience and training as a coach as resting on an extensive background of training and involvement over 20 years in the fields of psychodrama psychotherapy, Gestalt and psychoanalytic informed systems thinking.

He conceptualizes his role as being to support both the uniqueness of the individual and the collective endeavor that the individual is engaged in with others.

Nick Kitchen

Previously New Business Director of International Advertising Agency TBWA, Nick is an experienced senior executive and team coach, trainer, facilitator, coach supervisor and engaging event speaker, with more than twenty five years’ experience in supporting the development and success of organisations and leaders throughout many parts of the world.

His clients have ranged from SME entrepreneurial organisations to large Multinationals across many sectors including automotive, financial services and banking, IT, media and creative, pharmaceutical, industrial, oil exploration, public sector and charities.

He has been developing coaches for over twenty years, drawing particularly on his development of Somatic Cognitive coaching and facilitation which enables coaches and leaders to engage with their deeper embodied experience and thereby impact more effectively that of their groups and wider systems.

He has been a member of faculty with the AoEC since 2009, principally on the Advanced Diploma in Executive Coaching and the Systemic Team Coaching Diploma.

Dr Hilary Lines

Hilary Lines is an executive and team coach, educator and facilitator, with over 25 years’ experience of working with senior executives in a range of sectors. She helps clients unlock their full potential as leaders, enabling them to develop the relational presence and agility to engage productively with their teams, peers and clients. A driving force for her work lies in her belief that leaders in complex organisations create value through working constructively with difference: She helps leadership teams take a fresh look at the roots of underperformance and find new ways of relating that ignite energy and deliver results. Her work formed the foundation of “Touchpoint Leadership: Creating Collaborative Energy in Teams and Organiations”, a book that she co-authored with Jacqui Scholes-Rhodes in 2013.

Prior to setting up her leadership coaching business, Hilary coached the European Board of IBM’s consulting business, and was Global Head of Partner Development at PwC Consulting. She has held HR and leadership Development roles in the pharmaceutical sector.

Lizzie Pawsey
Lizzie Pawsey Associate Faculty
Lizzie Pawsey is an experienced business leader, coach and facilitator. She is passionate about enabling her clients to create effective change for themselves, their teams and their organisation.

Lizzie brings to the AoEC 20 years of corporate experience, having worked for several global organisations in senior HR and marketing leadership roles. She works with leaders and teams, in the UK and overseas, across a broad range of areas including building effective stakeholder relationships; developing leadership and influence style; increasing confidence; creating impact and presence; managing personal and professional change.

Lizzie is an ICF accredited coach at PCC level. She graduated from the AoEC Advanced Practitioner Diploma course in 2008 and is a member of faculty for the Practitioner Diploma and Coaching Skills Certificate. She brings her coaching skills and experience into her facilitation work to provide an energetic and inspiring learning space.
Lizzie also facilitates leadership development programmes for several global clients.

Marjorie Shackleton
Marjorie Shackleton Associate Faculty
Marjorie is an experienced coach and coach supervisor with extensive experience developing individuals and teams in organisations in the UK, US and Canada.

Her early interest in supervision came from her first career as a mental health clinician where supervision was always a reflective space which offered challenge, support and new learning. Marjorie obtained her coach supervision training through the AoEC and Bath Consultancy Group and her supervision style is underpinned by systemic, Gestalt and psychodynamic thinking.

Marjorie has undertaken advanced Gestalt training in the UK and the USA including The Gestalt Institute of Cleveland and The Gestalt International Study Center in Cape Cod.

Marjorie is a Programme Director for the Psychology of Coaching Gestalt Coaching and Supervision programmes at the AoEC. She is an APECS accredited coach and coach supervisor.
